Over the past three years, I've applied to a whopping 87 jobs at UPMC, so I think I have a good insight on this! I found the jobs I applied for by using their search engine producer thing - basically, I would save a search with particular specifications and check in on it every few days to find the new jobs. Annoying as hell to first set up but after that, easy to use. I also liked the actual application system - the reason I applied for so many was because I could knock out like five or six applications at the same time. Really efficient compared to, say, AHN (I only applied for 5 or so jobs there since it wasn't as easy). Now, past that, not so great! Of the 87 I applied for, I was notified: -Once when a job switched from one location to another -Once when a job was filled -Five times for interview. So 7/87 got me any sort of response. That's roughly an 8% response rate, for those playing at home. Onto the interviews! Of those five, four of them had a phone interview within a week or so of application and then scheduled an in-person interview for the following week.
